Neils Travels

We developed the Neils Travels mobile application for Neil Marathe, who had already used the app to share his travel stories and tips but had not been completely satisfied with its quality.

His travelogues and photos (Postcards) are the backbone of the application, but the Travel Tips and Travel Q&A functions are vital as well. The former provides travel advice based on his own experiences while the latter allows users to ask questions, which he always answers prudently. Furthermore, he shares his short videos on his Youtube channel (NEILTUBE) from all over the world – this way he can truly grasp and show the essence of a place.

During this project,we had to develop the application itself and the marketing website – we used Scrum methodology to create an Agile schedule. We created a new back-end and admin panel for the app usingLaravel framework. We usedReact native technology to make the app suitable for both iOS and Android operating systems.

A challenging  task that we faced was transferring data from the old database to the new one. Furthermore, inducting push notifications also presented a new challenge because of a new technology, theAmazon Pinpoint. The Amazon Pinpoint was a great help to us because we could manage the iOS and Android notifications in a centralized place. During the development of the microsite, we used a mobile-first approach and created a new admin panel as well.
